Festival Lodging Rental License
As Boulder prepares to welcome large multi-day events like the Sundance Film Festival, the city has introduced a new Festival Lodging Rental License — a special permit that allows homeowners to rent their primary residence for short stays during city-approved festivals.

What Homeowners Need to Know
Submit Your Festival Lodging License Application
Homeowners apply directly through the City of Boulder. Once approved, the city will confirm your eligibility via email.
Prepare Your Home for Festival Guests
Home Host Concierge manages the entire process—ensuring your home meets all requirements, is professionally prepared, and is positioned to perform during high-demand event periods.
List During the Eligible Festival Window
For each approved event, the city will confirm the dates when licensed homes can be rented: 10 days before through 9 days after the festival. Any rental nights during this window are subject to Boulder’s Short-Term Rental tax.
